Due to sustained growth and large tender wins an excellent opportunity for a Principal Electrical Engineer with an Earthing Design speciality has arisen with this internationally renowned multi-disciplinary firm of consulting engineers. This role requires a well established professional engineer with a proven background of working on high profile projects for major power infrastructure clients in Australia.
This is a technically based role and as such there is an expectation for you to have demonstrable and extensive experience in the design of complex earthing systems up to 500kV. The incumbent will have the responsibility of mentoring and training junior consultants and contribute to expanding the capabilities of the power engineering team. This is not a business development focused role but there will be regular dealings with clients and stakeholders and as such there is a need for excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Essential Skills and Experience
- Successful completion of a tertiary degree in Electrical Engineering or equivalent (Postgraduate studies are an advantage but not compulsory)
- Minimum of 10 years experience in dealing with the design of complex earthing systems for power projects in the public or private sector ideally in Sydney
- Proven success in supervising all aspects of design and design review including: the application of design standards, managing specialist sub-consultants, and complex project delivery methods
- A strong commercial acumen as well as impeccable interpersonal skills
- Previous experience with and a comprehensive understanding of the CDEGS software tool (Current Distribution, Electromagnetic Fields, Grounding and Soil Structure Analysis)
